1. PRACTICE. One of the biggest problems with telephoning in foreign language is lack of practice. Even though a person can understand, or speak in foreign language very well, when it comes to communicating over telephone it can get pretty complicated. So, learning how to talk on the phone in another language gives us a good experience which can always be useful. 2. PHRASES. When you start teaching telephoning in foreign language you learn a lot of useful phrases for every possible situation you can get in. When you don't know it, your conversation on the phone will probably be full of stuttering and you will respond slowly because you'll be busy finding the right words in your head. 3. PROFESSIONALISM. Learning how to communicate on the phone in foreign language can teach us how to sound more professional. Using convenient phrase or expression in a specific situation makes us sound more professional and reliable. 4. VERBAL SKILLS. Sometimes learning a foreign language is hard by itself, let alone having to learn telephoning skills in that language. Well, that is very important and we give you ten reasons why you should spend time learning those skills. You will look good in your boss's eyes. Your boss will surely appreciate someone that can answer the phone and leave a good impression on a potencial client. You will get more opportunities. Your boss will trust you more and give you more assignments that deal with foreign clients. The person on the other line will consider you trustworthy. It is better for both sides if they can understand each other. That will lead to better results of the conversation. You will know how to adapt to almost any situation. In this day and age the most popular way of contacting someone over distance is by phone calls. Having a certain skill in telephoning, especially in foreign language, can be very helpful because of many reasons. For example, Croatian students don't study telephoning skills in their language so learning said skills in a foreign language would help students (at least Croatian ones) with their telephoning skills in their native language also. In addition, being skillful in telephoning in a foreign language boosts chances of getting a job in a foreign country. Furthermore, telephoning skills in a foreign language can be very helpful when expanding business overseas. What's more, they enable better coummunication with foreign partners and/or clients. Besides, good telephoning skills can leave a great first impression and develop an impressive image. Everyone knows how image is important these days. More and more business deals are being made via telephone so that's another reason to take up a foreign language telephoning skill course. Moreover, sudden calls can catch a person off guard and if the person is not skilled in phone conversations it can be very embarrassing. It's also important to learn to listen effectively and respond efficiently as well as learn how to handle difficult callers with ease which is always a great thing. In addition to that, mastering the skill of gaining and maintaining control of telephone calls would be beneficial for anyone.
