One work from the first round may be repeated in the quarter final. The required playing time (both minimum and maximum) must be respected. Officially revised editions by the composer are also accepted as the year of composition. All pieces must be played from memory, except the set pieces in the semi-final (Mozart) and final (Wagenaar).

First Round (Preselection)

(ca.15 minutes, but not longer than 20 minutes) 1. Two studies, each from a different composer, of which at least one should be of the virtuoso type. One study by F. Chopin (from op. 10 or op. 25) and the other by F. Liszt, C. Debussy, S. Rachmaninov or G. Ligeti 2. J. Brahms One single piece from one of the following works: −− Fantasien op. 116 −− Drei Intermezzi op. 117 −− Klavierstücke op. 118 −− Klavierstücke op. 119 OR: R. Schumann: −− Two pieces from: Fantasiestücke op. 12

Quarter Final

(ca. 40 minutes, but not longer than 45 minutes) 1. Sonata or other major large scale work by L. van Beethoven (except op. 49) or F. Schubert 2. Solo work(s) – free choice (complete works from the romantic era up to and including the modern era, but composed before 1945)

Semi Final

(ca. ca. 45 minutes, but not longer than 50 minutes) 1. J.S. Bach One of the following works: −− Partita no. 1 in B flat Major BWV 825 −− Partita no. 2 in C Minor BWV 826. 2. Modern work, free choice, but written after 1945 (duration: 5 minutes or more) 3. W.A. Mozart Piano Concerto no. 11 in F Major KV 413 (with string quartet, MA students from Conservatory Amsterdam)

Final 1. D. Wagenaar Set piece: new commissioned work (duration ca. 7 minutes, to be published on the YPF website on 1 June 2015) 2. Solo concerto One of the following works: −− B.
