Manila- The capital of the largest in the country of the Philippines, Most of the child Prostitution takes place Prostitution tourists and the existence of sex tours catering to the Japanese, European and other tourists help keep child prostitution alive in the Philippines. Prostitution in the country side is starting to be relatively known as well.

Child prostitution has been going on for years A study has shown of about 75,000 children has been prostituted due to poverty. Children are often kidnapped by gangs or; are them self sold by family members, to even out a dept. Many are also recruit by friends or relatives

Children as young as five years of age are being prostituted . Many children who are prostituted by brothels are raped by 8-15 men per night. Most of the children ages 15-20 are subjected to sexual abuse and incest Most of the people paying for these services are business men, foreigners teenage boys

There are three of Child prostitution

Children, prostituted by PIMPS.

Children prostituted by BROTHELS (brothel is a form of a gang) Also children prostituted by there family members, and friend.

Both Girls and boys are prostituted. 



Girls are RAPED, ABUSED and Sold for TRAFFICKING Boys are TRAFFICKED as well and used in commercial SEX and TOURISM SEX.

Pedophiles and child abusers benefit from countries like the Philippines where access to a child is available. There are tourist packages where people are accommodated with hotels and access to children . Many victims of pedophiles cant even press charges because all the offenders do is post bail and flee the country.

Prostitution in the Philippines is illegal. It is punished with imprisonment . If found convicted a person could face up to life in prison. The Philippines is the first country to pass an Anti Child Abuse law. In 1997 the Philippines signed anti – pedophilia cooperation agreements with countries like Great Britain and Australia.

Half way houses protect sex trade victims. These houses are known as Bahay Silungan Sa Daungan. BSSD provide free food and shelter for up to six months . This provide the women and children time to reunite with their families .

UNICEF is an active advocate on behalf of the children in the Philippines. UNICEF started its work in the Philippines in November 1948. UNICEF started THE CPC 6 MOVEMENT . Their mission is to promote and protect children's rights.

Child Hope is a non- profit organization whose mission is to advocate for children in the streets Child Hope was established in 1989. It helps around 2000 street children in the Philippines . The Philippine government has not complied with the laws protecting child trafficking and prostitution .

HIV and Aids are a big concern in reference to the children who are being prostituted. Many children are being infected due to men believing that children are immune to having any type of disease. Most men do not use protection when having sex with children. Gonorrhea is a very common STD amongst children .

Prostituted children don’t really recover from the trauma of being prostituted. The longer a child is prostituted the less likely the child would live a “normal” life. The children are exposed to physical and emotional trauma that is very hard to overcome.
