First- Grade Curriculum Night Welcome, parents!

Welcome to First Grade!  We will introduce you to first grade and our procedures.  Please feel free to ask questions at the end of presentation.

Homework  We will assign about 30 minutes of homework every night. This includes 20 minutes of reading. This should be recorded on the daily reading log in your child’s binder.  Assignments are due on the following day.  We will have a weekly reading and Letterland assessment on Friday.  Parents keep Letterland information in child’s binder.

PBIS-What is it?  Positive Behavior Interventions and Support  Proactive approach to school-wide discipline  Promotes positive student and staff behavior  Implemented consistently by staff and administration

First Grade Binder  Each night our 1st graders will bring home their binder with important papers and work.  Please help them to learn responsibility by taking out the papers each night.  It is their job to turn in important notes and money each morning. Thanks for your help!
