Rules and Conditions 1. The Sanremo “Fotoclub Riviera dei Fiori", the Torria "Circolo Fotografico Torria", the Mallare "Circolo Fotografico La Mela Verde" and the Ranzi di Pietra Ligure "Fotoclub Riviera delle Palme" organize the 13th Western Liguria Circuit (3rd Western Liguria International Circuit) under the recognition of FIAP (Fedération Internationale de l’Art Photographique), RPS (Royal Photographyc Society), UIF (Unione Italiana Fotoamatori), PSA (Photographic Society of America), UPI (United Photographers International), and FIAF (Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche), the 13° Circuito del Ponente Ligure – 3rd. Western Liguria International Circuit. The circuit includes the following contests: 29th Mallare Prize Città di Sanremo Prize 32th Torria Prize th 17 Ranzi di Pietra Ligure Prize 4rd Città di Cervo Prize 13th

2. Photographers from all over the world are entitled to participate. However, an entry may be rejected when the Organization, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to the contest rules and conditions.

3. The Organization assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright. Digital sections images may be acquired digitally, or scanned from film by the entrant or a third party to create a digital file. Adjustments and cleaning to make the digital file match the original film image are allowed. 4. By virtue of participating in the contest, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own (aliases are not permitted). 5. Images may be altered, either digitally or otherwise, by the author and small computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated provided that the photographic content predominates. The final work must be a digital file without any signature or writing in it. 6. Each entrant is allowed to submit a maximum of 4 (four) digital images for each category: Category A Free Subject, Colour (PID Color Division) Category B Free Subject, Monochrome (PID Monochrome Division) Images which have already been SUBMITTED for a previous edition of the Circuit WILL NOT be accepted, and no admission fee will be reimbursed. Monochrome images submitted in Category A Free Subject, Colour (PDI Color Division) WILL NOT be accepted, and no admission fee will be reimbursed. The same image shall not be submitted under both sections. 7. Image files shall be saved in the sRGB o RGB colour space and in jpg format, with a maximum horizontal dimension of 1,920 pixels or a maximum vertical dimension of 1,080 pixels and have a maximum size of 1.5 Mb (megabyte) per file (no file renaming requested).

8. Admission fees are as follows: Photographers living outside Europe: FIAF – UIF members: 62.00 USD 38.00 EUR (additional charge due to printed catalogue shipping) Special conditions granted to clubs with at least 6 (six) participants. The club concerned shall send a request to [email protected] indicating all participants' name and surname. A promotional code will be therefore sent to be entered in the relevant field in the registration form by each participant in order to enjoy a discount of 5.00 EUR or 7.00 USD per author. 9. Each participant registration (filling in of registration form), image upload, entering of image title (no file renaming requested) and fee payment shall be performed directly on the website: Photographers living in Italy and Europe: 43.00 EUR

www.fotoponenteligure.it Only Western characters are allowed for both participant registration and image titles. The original file name shall be written in Western characters too when uploading the file. At the end of registration payment will be required. Participants may choose to pay either by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, Postepay, Discover, Aurora, American Express) or PayPal account. Images from participants who are not up to date with the registration fee payment will not be accepted. 10. Each photographer is responsible for the subject of all his/her entries. At the end of the event, all files will be destroyed excepting those admitted or awarded, which will be instead kept and exclusively used for contest-related non commercial purposes, such as projections, making of the printed catalogue, exhibition of the awarded photographies, and FIAF, UIF and organizing club newsletters (both on hardcopy and on the net). 11. All images from the same participant will be projected in order. The decision of the juries shall be final. 12. The Organization guarantees maximum care in handling the files received. However, it assumes no liability for any kind of damages or losses. 13. Uncollected awards will be shipped at the receiver's own risk. The shipping costs will be borne by the Organization. 14. At the end of the event, all contestants will be given the printed catalogue containing all the award winning works and a selection of those admitted to the 5 contests. 15. Please note that, pursuant to art. 13 of the Italian Legislative Decree No. 196 dated 30 June 2003, "Codice in materia di protezione dei dati personali" (Personal Data Protection Code), the personal data provided within the contests being part of the Circuit will be gathered and recorded by the Sanremo Fotoclub Riviera dei Fiori on electronic and paper media. Data will be protected and handled by the implementation of measures appropriated to guarantee safety and confidentiality according to the relevant laws and regulations. Data might be published on-line (as provided for by the FIAF contest regulations) on the websites of the organizing clubs (www.fotoponenteligure.it, www.fotoclubrdf.it and on the Circuit Facebook page) and on the means mentioned in point 10 of these Rules and Conditions. Contestants are entitled to exercise 3

the rights provided for by art. 7 ff. of the Italian Legislative Decree No. 196/2003 (including the right to obtain confirmation of their existence and their communication in an intelligible form, the indication of the methods of processing, the update, amendment or integration of data and cancellation) by means of informal request addressed to the Data Controller as the pro-tempore Presidents of the organizing clubs and the President of the Circuit Mr Marco Zurla, Secretary of the Sanremo Fotoclub Riviera dei Fiori. 16. Participating in the Circuit implies the clear and unconditional acceptance of these Rules and Conditions. FIAF NOTES: In order not to incur FIAF sanctions, photographic works submitted to the contests shall remain over time as they were when they have first been presented. For instance, one colour photograph, submitted either as a print or a file, shall not be submitted any more as monochrome ad vice versa. PSA NOTES: An image that was accepted in a prior CPID or EID recognized section of this exhibition may not be entered in a PID recognized Colour section of this exhibition. Monochrome Definition: a monochrome image is defined as having varying shades of no more than one colour (various shades of that colour from very light to very dark) but it may be any single colour. Multi-toned images (various shades of two or more colours) and greyscale images with added an accent colour are not acceptable in Monochrome Class sections and must be entered in Colour Class sections. FIAP NOTES: Monochrome Definition: a black and white work fitting from the very dark grey (black) to the very

clear grey (white) is a monochrome work with the various shades of grey. A black & white work toned entirely in a single colour will remain a monochrome work able to stand in the black & white category; such a work may be reproduced in black & white in the catalogue. On the other hand a black and white work modified by partial toning or by the addition of one colour becomes a colour work (polychrome) to stand in the colour category.
