Model Thesis: In “The Lady, or the Tiger?” by Frank R. Stockton, the princess is capable of selecting the tiger because she is jealous, devious, and cruel. I.

Jealous A. The princess has seen the other woman, and she is beautiful (35). B. The princess has seen her lover and the other woman exchanging glances (35).

The barbaric princess chooses the door with the tiger due to her overwhelming envy. Her father, the king, picks a lady to place behind the door that the lover would marry if he chooses that door. The princess has seen the other woman, and she is beautiful (35). Because the lady is so lovely, the princess will not want her lover to marry her. The princess would never be happy because she would have to watch her lover in the company of such an attractive lady. Along with the lady’s beauty, the princess is jealous because she feels her lover is romantically interested in the chosen lady. The princess has seen her lover and the other woman exchanging glances (35). When she sees her lover glancing at another woman, she becomes so jealous that she would rather have her lover dead than with that other woman. Overall, the princess chooses the door containing the tiger because she would rather have her lover condemned to death than to have her lover marry another beautiful woman.
