Time: 8:45-10:45 Students are grouped into smaller reading groups to ensure progress. There are three rotations each day that includes spelling work, reading fluency/expression and comprehension. The extended time allotted for our reading block allows us to incorporate RTI into our lessons in order to monitor and evaluate student progress.

Students work on writing skills for narrative, persuasive, and expository writing. We’ve been working on sensory writing experiences to help students expand their sentences with descriptive language. Check out our bubble writing!

Homework is assigned so that students can independently review and practice ideas and skills learned in class.

We know that some student require more assistance than others. Please NEVER allow homework to become frustrating for your child or you. Send it in and let us help.

Students have spelling homework every week. There are different activities that students should be completing Monday through Thursday in their spelling journals. SpellingCity is always an option!

Don’t forget to study vocabulary words!
