How it works… •

The Tulare County Farm Bureau Youth Leadership Program now in its 25th year is a unique opportunity for high school juniors to develop leadership skills through a variety of enrichment seminars, team building activities, university tours, community service and local and state government exploration.

The program is open to juniors from throughout Tulare county’s public & private high schools. Our goal is to recruit two students from each high school and focus on applicants that need encouragement to step into leadership roles.

Students are not required to be involved with agriculture or Farm Bureau but should possess leadership ambition and demonstrate an interest in learning more about agriculture.

One student in each Youth Leadership Class will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship based on participation, attendance, leadership, and conduct during the program.

Applications are due each year in May, and interviews are conducted with each candidate in June/July. The program runs September through May annually aligning with the regular academic school year.
