MATHAMAZING The Mathamazing exhibition shows visitors that maths can be fun and inspiring! Visitors can play and explore many different mathematic concepts through logic puzzles and interactive exhibits. The Mathamazing experience will inspire visitor’s mathematical curiosity and confidence, and build greater understanding of mathematical concepts. The Data Gathering exhibit explores statistics and the different types of relationships between sets of data. Enter your hair colour, age, or even pet preference on a screen, then take a reaction timer test and see how your times compare to people with similar data to you. Are all relationships between groups important, or are some purely coincidental? The Mechanical Monkey will help you with your arithmetic. Move the monkey’s feet to numbers along the baseline and watch the monkey’s hands reveal the answer to your chosen mathematical operation. The Logic Goats exhibit is a playful exploration of logic gates, binary code and Boolean logic which are used in signalling in electronic goods such as computers and transistors. Mathamazing comprises 22 hands-on exhibits, which offer 29 educational maths experiences. Five floorbased Mega Maths Puzzles include a mixture of familiar and new puzzles to engage and intrigue visitors. Can you find your way through the giant Step Maze, or solve the oversized but classic cube puzzle? Mathamazing is aimed at visitors aged 12 years and older and aligns with the National Curriculum. The exhibition explores many mathematical topics such as conics, topology, number theory, probability and statistics, logic and problem solving Mathamazing was one of Questacon’s original travelling exhibitions that toured rural and regional Australia and parts of Asia for more than a decade. Due to its popularity, the Mathamazing exhibition has been completely reinvigorated, combining fresh, new maths exhibit concepts alongside some favourites from the original exhibition into 22 new exhibits. Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre, has been developing, building and touring hands-on exhibitions for Australian and world markets for almost 25 years. The complete Mathamazing exhibition consists of two highly adaptable modules which are specifically constructed to be easily crated for shipping around Australia and the world.
