Vor der Schule + action

Example : Vor der Schule wasche ich mich und dann ziehe ich mich an.  Tips : watch out for the reflexive pronoun with reflexive verbs (mich / sich etc).  Tips: use “dann” to say “then” + another action.  Tips : “vor der Schule” is in position 1, therefore you must put the verb in 2nd position (wasche ich mich and NOT ich wasche mich).

Example : Nach der Schule spiele ich Fußball. Negative example : Nach der Schule spiele ich nicht Tennis.  Tips : add “und” meaning “and” to extend your sentences.  Tips : “nach der Schule” is in position 1, therefore you must put the verb in 2nd position (spiele ich and NOT ich spiele).  Tips: use the negative (nicht) in German to say what you do not do.



Example : Nach der Schule spielt mein Bruder Rugby. Negative example : Nach der Schule übt mein Freund nie ein Instrument.  Tips: remember to change the verb to the “t” ending Tips : Remember to invert theending verb and subject pronoun if you use “in der  Tips : use “aber” (but) to link your sentences Schule” first. WRITE OUT + PRACTICE SPELLINGS! This is the key to all your learning! Practise writing out a sentence. Use look, cover, check to see if you can rewrite it perfectly. Highlight mistakes and rewrite until it is correct! Put post it notes with a sentence on each in different areas of your room. When memorizing the sentence, picture the object where the post it note is.
