LOVEJOY CHEER • Representatives of Lovejoy High School • Promote good sportsmanship, good citizenship, positive school spirit • Enthusiastically support all athletic teams through advertisement, personal attitude, and attendance at events chosen by the sponsor and approved by the principal. • Support all groups at Lovejoy High School throughout the 2015-16 school year

GAME DAY FORMAT Each team will showcase its best sideline and crowd-leading material in the following categories:

TIME OUT CHEER Emphasis on crowd involvement The use of crowd-leading tools such as signs, poms, flags and/or megaphones is encouraged

TRYOUT SCORE BREAKDOWN

RESPONSIBILITIES FOOTBALL • Varsity cheerleaders cheer at all varsity football games both at home and away. Junior Varsity and Freshman Cheerleaders cheer at home games only. JV and Freshman games are played on Thursday nights. • Freshman and Junior Varsity Squads cheer at the Varsity game on Leopard Friday and at the Pink Out game. • Freshman and Junior Varsity Squads may be included in playoff games if participation does not interfere with other cheer responsibilities.

• In 2014-15 our Lovejoy Leopards played in one Playoff game, in 2013-14 we played two playoff games.

RESPONSIBILITIES VOLLEYBALL • All squads cheer for home volleyball games. Most of those games were played on Tuesday and Fridays. • In the event a Varsity Football game is played simultaneously with a Varsity Volleyball game, Varsity will cheer football and Junior Varsity will cheer both the JV volleyball game and the Varsity Volleyball game. • In the event our Lovejoy Leopards make the Playoffs, all squads may be invited to cheer if participation does not interfere with other cheer responsibilities. • In 2014-15 the Lovejoy Leopards were state champions! We cheered at 6 playoff games including the State Championship

RESPONSIBILITIES BASKETBALL • All squads cheer at girls and boys basketball games. Games are played on Tuesday and Friday nights. • The squads are divided so we can cheer for all the teams.

• In the event our Lovejoy Leopards make the Playoffs, all squads may be invited to cheer if participation does not interfere with other cheer responsibilities. • In 2014-15 we cheered at 1 girls playoff game

RESPONSIBILITIES SPRING SPORTS • Lovejoy Cheer will support the LHS Baseball, Softball, Soccer and La Crosse Teams by attending one game for each sport. • The LHS cheer coaches communicate with the coaches and athletes to determine which games to attend.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES • Ice Cream Socials at Elementary Schools • Family Fun Nights at Elementary Schools • Reading with the Leopards (Varsity) • Founder’s Day Pep Rally (JV and Varsity)

Estimates based on 2014-15 cost of uniform. UCA Camp at the University of Texas $550 Includes meals, transportation (One Charter Bus) and en extra night before camp starts. Cost estimates the extra day of lodging.

The Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman squads will travel to the University of Texas in Austin to participate in a UCA Cheer Camp.
