We began this school year with the most important event in human history: the Neolithic (New Stone Age) Agricultural Revolution and how humans progressively ceased their hunting & gathering/nomadic lifestyle and created permanent settlements with the advent of farming and the domestication of animals which led to civilization and increasing populations. NOW … we come to the 2nd most important event in human history – the Industrial Revolution. A. Just as the Agricultural Revolution began in a few small key areas (remember the River Valley Civilizations like Egypt and Mesopotamia?) and then spread outward, the Industrial Revolution also started in specific areas before spreading. In what region of the world did it start?
