Personal pronouns are pronouns used as substitutes for proper or common nouns.

For example: John makes the bed every morning He makes the bed every morning

Possessive Pronouns. • A possessive pronoun is used instead of a noun.

Possessive Pronouns:

•Mine •Yours •His •Hers •Its •Ours •Theirs

For example: • My friend John has a new dog. • His old dog died last week.

Possessive Adjectives. A possessive adjective is usually used to describe a noun.

Possessive Adjectives: • • • • • • •

My Your Her His Its Our Their

For example: • Susan will visit her friends when she goes to England. •Susan will visit Bratt and Patrick when she goes to England.
