Diet • Platypuses eat insects and larvae, they pick up gravel as they chew up the insects and larvae so they can eat .

Structures • Platypuses have a beaver like tail to swim. Platypuses have duck like feet to swim.

Behavior • Platypuses feed milk to their young. • Platypuses hunt underwater.

Habitat

• Platypuses live in a burrow underground in Australia near water.

Interesting Facts • Male platypuses have stingers on their rear feet. • Platypuses are one of nature’s unlikely animals. • Male platypuses are venomous. • Platypuses are bottom feeders. • Their reproduction is nearly unique.

What If? • If a platypus lost it’s adaptations it would not survive because it can not use it’s Morphological or Behavioral adaptations.
