FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS  





What are rights? Certain freedoms given to the people, to develop their potentials Why some rights are called as Fundamental? The basic rights given to the citizens and guaranteed by the constitution.

Fundamental rights   

 

Contain in part III of Indian constitution. Called as the soul of our constitution. Safe-guard the citizens against state exploitation. Justifiable. Having certain limitations.

TYPES OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS.   

  

1. RIGHT TO EQUALITY. 2. RIGHT TO FREEDOM. 3. RIGHT AGAINST EXPLOITATION. 4. RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF RELIGION. 5. CULTURAL & EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS. 6.RIGHT TO CONSTITUTIONAL REMEDIES.

RIGHT TO EQUALITY   

 

-Equality before law. Equal opportunity for all. Prohibition of discrimination Abolition of untouchability. Abolition of titles.

RIGHT TO FREEDOM  

  



Freedom of speech & expression. Freedom to move any where of the country. Freedom to assemble. Freedom to form association. Freedom to purchase of land and settle (except (J&K) Freedom to take any profession.

Right against exploitation  

Traffic in human beings. To stop forced labour

RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF RELIGION 

Freedom to practice, profess & propagate of one’s own religion.

Cultural & Educational Rights   

To preserve one’s own culture. To establish educational institutions. Script.

RIGHT TO CONSTITUTIONAL REMEDIES. 

TO move to the High court & supreme court if the above Fundamental Rights are violated .
