Conference Description Cleveland State University in joint providership with Cleveland Clinic is proud to offer both the basic and advanced general movement assessment courses. Research conducted in the last 20 years has shown that Prechtl’s Assessment of General Movements (GMs) has strong psychometric properties to allow for accurate discrimination of neuromotor dysfunction for infants less than five months of age, including prediction of Cerebral Palsy. The assessment is characterized as a noninvasive, cost-effective, functional evaluation utilizing standardized video recordings and gestalt observation. Spontaneous GMs can be observed from 28 weeks post-conception through 20 weeks post-term age and are categorized based upon corrected age. This course fulfills the standards
