Anna University, India GRAD COURSEWORK Deterministic Systems, Optoelectronic Devices, Power Systems, Power and Energy Experiences, Alternative and Renewable Energy Resources , Solar Cell Devices and Systems, Solid State Electronics, Advanced Computer Architecture , Advanced Engineering Electromagnetics. WORK EXPERIENCE Research Assistant, Department of Electrical Engineering, May 2014-Present University of Kentucky Performed fabrication and analysis of solar cells. Experienced in handling Small Sputtering Machine, Thermal Evaporator, Annealing Furnace, SEM, EDX, XRD and E-Beam Evaporator. Lab In-Charge, Student Computing Services, University of Kentucky Jan 2015- Present Helping students with software - MATLAB, XILINX, Word Processing and university password resets and basic hardware problems – printer breakdowns and laptop connectivity issues. TECHNICAL PAPERS INTERNATIONAL MATERIALS RESEARCH CONFERENCE: Nano-porous n-TiO2 / p-CdTe Heterojunction Solar Cells with Enhanced Response in the Near-UV Region of the Solar Spectrum. – To be published in SOLMAT soon. •
PROJECTS Net-Zero Home- Residential PV System: Calculated energy demands on a monthly basis and designed an optimum residential PV system to make it a net-zero home. Solar Angles, available roof area, strength (dead and live weight) and deflection calculations were made before PV design. Payback was calculated finally.
•
Domestic Wind Power System:
Calculated energy demands on a monthly basis and designed an optimum residential Wind system from a given wind velocity data. No specific software help was used, all calculations
were made with MS Excel. An apt domestic wind turbine was chosen and energy calculations were made. •
CdTe-CdS Solar Cells:
Worked with a Ph.D. scholar with the fabrication of n- type Cadmium Sulfide nano-wires with p-type Cadmium Telluride solar cells. Characterized the solar cell with parameters such as Voc, Isc, and Fill Factor, EQE, C-V, I-V curves, low temperature measurements in both light and dark conditions.
•
CZTS Solar Cells:
Fabricated Copper zinc tin sulfide solar cells, hand made a sulfurization furnace with a 3 member team, the furnace was made from spare parts available to reduce lab expenses and the system complied with the University safety parameters- a vacuum pump, quartz tube with end caps and thermocouples and a vent tube were put together for this purpose.
•
Accumulator type Microprocessor:
Used Verilog coding to design and test an accumulator type microprocessor with a 2 stage processing capability, designed ALU, central controller, memory registers and interrupt register.
•
Adaptive Cruise Control:
Senior year project, deceleration mechanism was implemented along with the already available mainstream cruise control. This was a prototype depicting the back tires of the car. IN PLANT TRAININGS AND INDUSTRIAL VISITS
