ANDRES BONIFACIO WAS BORN ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1863.

Birth  Born on November 30, 1863  Born in Tondo



HIS FATHER WAS A TAILOR AND HIS MOTHER WAS A TOBACCO FACTORY WORKER.



Father- Santiago Bonfacio Who was a Tailor



Mother- Catalina de Castro Who was a cigarrera ( works in the tobacco factory)



Both of his parents died early forcing him to stop his studies and work to support his siblings



ANDRES WORKED IN A BRITISH COMPANY CALLED: FLEMING & COMPANY

British Company called Fleming & Company as a messenger  German Company called Fressel & Company as a warehouse keeper 



Because he was uneducated, ANDRES could not read BOOKS THAT WERE WRITTEN IN SPANISH

Bonifacio did not set aside his passion for reading… Among the books that he read were:  

 

The History of the French Revolution Les Miserables The Wandering Jew Lives of the Presidents of the United States

He also read:

Noli Me Tangere El Flibusterimo La Solidaridad

This 3 books were all in Spanish. Which meant Andres knew the Spanish language

He was also active in theatrical plays or moro-moro



ANDRES MARRIED MONICA AND HAD A CHILD WHO DIED AFTER 3 YEARS

 His first wife was Monica from Tondo,

died of leprosy

a year after they were married  His second wife was Gregoria de Jesus from Caloocan. Gregoria was nicknamed Oryang Married in Binondo Church in 1893 and married again

under the Katipunan rites They had a son who died 3 years after they got married.

 He wrote: Pag-ibig sa Tinabuang Lupa Katapusang Hibik ng Pilipinas sa Inang Espanya Ang Dapat Mabatid ng mga Tagalog  These were all about nationalism.  Wrote under the pseudonym Agapito Bagumbayan  Prepared a Decalogue to serve as guide for the

Served many function in the Katipunan such as Secretary, Fiscal, Adviser and General

1896 B. TO WRITE THE “NEW LAW” ON JUNE 16, 1895 C. TO GET MORE RECRUITS FOR THE K.K.K.

Emilio Jacinto’s role in the attack the garrison in San Juan on August 30, 1896 was vital. He was later assigned to the mission of rescuing Rizal. but he refused to be rescued by the Katipuneros In Febuary 1898, he fought with the cazadores or Spanish riflemen in Maimpis, Magdalena, Laguna. Where he was wounded and attended to by a Spanish Doctor.



He expressed with Mabini his plans to continue studying law at the Universidad Literario de Filipinas. Jacinto would go to Malolos and study and render services to the Aguinaldo government. Although this planned did not succeed.

 

Jacinto died of Malaria on April 6, 1899 in Sta. Cruz, Laguna (24 years old) Remembered as the “Brains of the Katipunan”.

On August 28, 1896  Bonifacio issued a proposal which he urged

Filipinos to join.  He ordered the attack on Manila on August 29, 1896. For it was the center of Spanish Colonialism.  However this planned attack did not happen



On August 30, 1896  they attacked a gunpowder factory in San Juan

del Monte  to get more ammunition  However, this plan did not suceed because the Spaniards had outnumbered and had more arms then the Katipuneros  After the attack, Ramon Blanco declared the outbreak of war in Manila, Laguna, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Cavite, and Batangas

Governor General Ramon Blanco created a Batallon de Leales Voluntarios de Manila which arrested suspected Katipuneros and Katipunero supporters. This caused the arrest of many famous citizens, execution of the “13 martyrs of Cavite”, and many more executions

  
