The paper must be between 6-8 pages; not counting title page, attachments, and references. Papers will be graded on: (1) content which includes description of domain, population, and risk/protective factors; research based strategy; accuracy of information; and breadth and depth of thought; (2) writing which includes writing ability, grammar, and creativity; (3) adherence to APA guidelines such as double spaced, 12 inch font, one inch margins, citations, references, etc.; (4) length; and (5) references with a minimum of 4 peer reviewed sources cited throughout the paper using APA format. Discussion Board (Worth 25%)

11-30-10

Students are expected to make at least two lengthy, well written submissions with references per lecture in the Discussion Board. The Discussion Board forums are an opportunity to: communicate with classmates; synthesize the readings, videos, and lectures; integrate academic content with personal thoughts; and learn from a public, albeit virtual, discussion-a community of learning. These two required submissions should be in response to the posted questions and course content; for example the required text, the lecture, and any additional articles/videos available to the class. All Discussion Board submissions should use APA referencing; see the aforementioned website for APA guidelines. All submissions should be well thought out, well written, academically sound, honest, and appropriate for this scholarly forum. They should be approximately 200 words long with references. Students are also encouraged to make shorter, non-referenced responses to on-line peers. It is suggested that you compose your response in word first then copy/paste into the appropriate forum; avoid attachments.
