명사절을 이끄는 that 1. 접속사 that은 ‘~라는 것’이라는 뜻의 명사절을 이끌며, 문장 에서 주어, 목적어, 보어의 역할을 한다. 주로 생각이나 믿음을 나타내는 believe, think, hope, know 등의 동사 뒤에 that 절

을 사용한다.

ex> My parents believe that I did my best on this exam. I think that you are in love with Amy. I hope that you have a great time with your family. She knows that her team will win the game.

명사절: that절 2. 목적절을 이끄는 that은 생략될 수 있다.

ex> People believed (that) the earth was flat. ex> Do you think (that) I did something wrong?

「-thing+형용사」 1

형용사의 쓰임과 어순 형용사는 일반적으로 명사 앞에서 명사를 꾸며주는 수식어 역할 을 한다. 이 때는 「관사+형용사 + 명사」의 어순으로 쓴다.

ex> They have a big house. 2

-thing으로 끝나는 명사의 수식 something, anything, nothing과 같이 -thing으로 끝나는 명사 를 꾸며 줄 때는 형용사가 명사 뒤에 온다.

ex> I bought something delicious for you. ex> Can we try to do anything interesting? ex> There is nothing wrong with you.

「-thing+형용사」 3

-thing으로 끝나는 명사 뿐만 아니라 –one, -body로 끝나 는 명사도 형용사가 뒤에서 꾸며준다는 점에 주의해야 한 다. ex> We need someone honest. ex> Is there somebody new here?
