Recent succesful ECO section events 

29 May 2015, Leno, Italy – conference "Local banks: how are they different?", organised by FEBEA in cooperation with the EESC as a follow-up to ECO/371 "Cooperative and Savings Banks". Mr Trias Pintó, rapporteur, and Mr Luca Jahier, Group III president, will represent the EESC at the event 1 June 2015, EESC – ECO/377 hearing on "A European tax as an EU own resource" 3 June 2015, EESC – ECO/372 hearing on "Access to finance for SMEs" 17 June 2015, EESC – ECO/378 hearing on an "Economy for the Common Good"

Statement by the ECO president   

 

Updating the title of the permanent study group from "Economic Policy Coordination" to "The future of EMU" for the next term-of-office. Forthcoming report of the five presidents "Next steps for better economic governance in the euro area" to be presented to the European Council in June. Letter from the EESC President, Mr Malosse, to the 28 Heads of State and Government (via the Ambassadors) informing them of the adoption of the EESC opinion on Completing EMU: The political pillar. See letter in your folder. Investment Plan implementation outlook. See document in your folder. At the request of both the EESC-president´s private office and the president of the EESC´s Ad Hoc Group on European Citizens' initiatives (ECI), and likewise, in line with the bureau decision, the organisers of the ECI "An end to front companies in order to secure a fairer Europe", will be invited to present their initiative to section members. The presentation will be made by Ms Cutajar, lector and researcher at the University of Strasbourg.
