Citrus Bowl History  Originally call Orlando Stadium and constructed as a Works Project Administration project during Franklin Roosevelt’s administration in 1936 with a capacity of 8,900  The stadium was renamed the Tangerine Bowl during a renovation in 1947 adding 2,000 seats  5,000 more seats were added in 1968, along with the first press box.  The stadium underwent an expansion from 1974 to 1976, to bring the total seating capacity to 50,000  After re-naming the stadium in 1983 to the Florida Citrus Bowl, a capacity of 65,438 was established in 1989, after a $38 million renovation that added the upper decks.  1999-2002 improvements included escalators, seat bottoms and a new video board.

 AstroTurf added in 2010 during a $10M renovation  Current Capacity is 70,000

Florida Citrus Bowl Major Events

 Four major events held each year from early November to late January  Florida Classic between Bethune-Cookman University and Florida A&M University  Russel Athletic Bowl  Capital One Bowl (New Years Day)  Monster Jam (Monster Truck Event)

Why Renovate?  City of Orlando and Florida Citrus Sports officials expect the reconstruction to generate a $300 million annual economic impact from new events  Reconstruction will allow the stadium to host college and pre-season NFL neutral site football games, international soccer games, WrestleMania, monster truck and motocross events, music festivals, state football championships, band competitions and lacrosse tournaments

 Rebranding of the stadium’s regional and national image  Funding approved as part of $1.1 Billion Downtown Orlando Centroplex Program

Renovation Highlights  The stadium will undergo a $178 million reconstruction project, set to be complete in March/ April 2015  Under the reconstruction plan, 80% of the existing stadium will be demolished and reconstructed  New 360-degree Main Concourse with wide concourse and improved que-ing areas  New stadium seating in lower bowl including individual seats on sidelines and bleachers with backs in endzones  Six more inches of leg-room in bowl lower and club level seating bowls  New team Facilities and Operations areas on Main Concourse

Renovation Highlights (Cont.)  New 360-degree Club Level with Clubs on east and west sidelines, party deck in north endzone  Updated Suites and Press boxes  10 new suites and potential “Super-Suite” on west side  New waterproofing on Upper seating bowl and concourse to protect finishes below  New vertical Circulation  New exterior façade with decorative metal panels  Update Sound System  New Video Displays  Site improvements with new entries

Project Team  HNTB Corporation (Kansas City) has been Contracted by the City for Design Services. Firm has almost 100 years and multiple stadiums of experience (including recent similar renovations)

 City has aquired SC Advisors as the Owner’s Rep (SCAdvisors also served as Owner’s Rep for the Orlando Magic on Amway center)  Program Manager procurement took place in January with City Council approval on February 5th to negotiate with Firms in order of Ranking

Project Team (Continued)  Construction Manager Procurement will consist of a twopart RFQ/ RFP Process (similar to Amway and DPAC Projects)  RFQ/ RFP will be advertised on February 24th and available for download on February 25th  RFQ will be due in let March with shortlisting shortly following  Rankings are projected to be presented to City Council on May 5th

Design/ Procurement Status  The design for the re-construction is in the Schematic Design Phase.  Early packages are expected to be released in July timeframe including the following:  Underground Utilities  Foundations  Steel and Concrete structures  Pre-cast Stadia  Vertical Transportation

 Procurement of these packages anticipated in August/ September  Possible Design Assist packages for MEP  Balance of Design anticipated to be complete at end of 2013 with Procurement immediately following

Project Strategy  Complete as much work as possible prior to and during the November 2013 – January 2014 events  Decommissioning and demolition of lower two seating bowls begins immediately following Monster Jam in January 2014  Two crews working on structure and seating bowls  Finish work where possible during demo/ structural work  Outbuildings, operations and team facilities work following structure/ seating bowl  Majority of work to be completed by November 2014 with final completion in the January 2015 – March 2015 timeframe
