This GCSE course gives you the background knowledge and develops the skills needed by anybody considering working with people

• An applied course which is different to most of your other GCSEs as it is vocationally based

• Two units covered - one is controlled coursework and the other by externally assessed examination

• You complete projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, case studies, applied opportunities and real life examples

GCSE in HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE Unit 1 – Understanding personal development and relationships (external examination, 40% of overall grade) Unit 2 – Exploring health, social care and early years provision (internally assessed, externally moderated coursework, 60% of overall grade)

GCSE in HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE Unit 1 – Understanding personal development and relationships (external examination, 40% of overall grade) This unit helps you understand how people grow and develop, as well as the personal relationships people have during their lives. You will look at how people grow and develop from birth, right through to later adulthood. This knowledge will help you understand others and maybe help you understand yourself.

GCSE in HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE This unit is based on an investigation into the needs of one person and how health, social care and early years organisations meet those needs. You will select the person you study and conduct all the research yourself.
