Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization: To advise on all aspects of the creation, maintenance, protection and enforcement of adidas Group trademarks, designs and other intellectual property except patents, in designated countries and regions. The adidas Group comprises the following brands: adidas, Reebok, Rockport, CCM, Taylor Made, Ashworth and Adams. Key Responsibilities: •

Advise on all aspects assigned to the Employee of the clearance of adidas Group names and designs against third party rights, and compliance with Group trade mark guidelines. Advise on all aspects assigned to the Employee of the filing, prosecution, maintenance and oppositions, in designated countries, of adidas Group trademarks and designs, including compliance with adidas Group filing policies; oppositions to third party trademarks and designs in the designated countries. Manage enforcement of adidas Group trademarks and designs in designated countries within EMEA, including both criminal and civil action, anti-counterfeiting, and the protection of the 3-Stripes mark. Draft and negotiate agreements (in English) with a significant IP aspect such as technical collaborations, consultancy agreements, joint development agreements, coexistence/settlement agreements and simple licence agreements. Advise the business on the IP aspects of other commercial agreements and transactions. Promote awareness of adidas Group intellectual property including training and presentations to Innovation, Marketing and Design teams and participation in induction courses for new adidas Group employees. Manage a team of assistants / paralegals /brand protection managers) within the

Global Trademarks team. Manage outside lawyers and service suppliers. Liaise with other members of the Global Trademarks and Global Patents teams, including in other regions. Manage special projects relating to intellectual property matters agreed with the Director Trademarks, from time to time.

Set and manage budget for aspects of assigned work in designated countries and regions.

Good English language drafting skills and business acumen Team player and ability to manage and develop direct reports effectively Strong intelligence and flexibility to manage diverse range of trade mark and design matters, and the ability to prioritize complex workload Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: • • •

Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience At least 5 years’ experience in managing major trade mark portfolios or trade mark enforcement Fluent English, a second language desirable (e.g, German, French, Spanish)
