Laryngitis is a fairly common ailment, but it can plague sufferers with frustration. This condition occurs when the larynx, also known as the voice box, becomes inflamed. This can occur for several reasons, but most often, it is due to overuse or straining of the voice. Other causes of laryngitis can include physical trauma to the larynx and infection.
